Contemporary Greek visual artists and ceramicists explore form, texture, and monochromaticity, highlighting the dynamism of the material

The exhibition ΧΩΜΑ (EARTH), curated by Irida Kritikou, continues the dialogue that began with the exhibition ΜΕΛΑΝΑ (BLACK), attempting to capture the current landscape of Greek ceramics, with contributions ranging from Northern Greece to Crete and from Thessaly to the Cyclades, Athens, and Aegina. This is an exhibition of contemporary ceramic art and sculpture that, following the curators’ original concept of symbiosis as its unifying thread, proposes a multifaceted aesthetic and symbolic interpretation of material and form: the natural color of the selected clay, the warm flesh that breathes and pulsates, transforming into a simple organic realm of alchemical and sculptural expression with inexhaustible possibilities.
